Charity Homes – A Refuge For The Helpless

Fate will not be always fair to everyone who is born on earth. If you have clothes to put on, a home to live and tasty food to eat 3 or 4 times a day, you are the luckiest person on earth. Still there are lots of people around the world who do not share the privilege of these basic necessities. Charity homes and charitable institutions is a boon for such people. It is the duty of eligible persons to help them to the maximum of their ability through these charitable organizations. The act of help and charity is never discouraged whatsoever.
If you look around, I am sure you will find women, children and senior citizens in a situation where they need help and protection. Charity homes are now shelter for battered women, abused children and parents who have been left alone by their grown up children. The most important thing that these charity institutions need is monetary support, for which they target the public through many awareness campaigns and fund raising programs, an example of which is a local thrift shop that you can see in the next street round the corner.
There are many scams happening in the name of charity. This is a bad tendency and it will have a negative effect by discouraging the public from donating for charity. Most of the charitable organizations encourage nature preserving activities like planting new trees, teaching their inmates some career oriented craftwork and also educates children with the fund received. Now that everything has been computerized and internet dependent, many online portals have tie-ups with charitable organizations and help them to increase their fund collection through these websites.
Helping other living beings is a human nature and this should never be turned into a business. Proper measures should be taken by the ruling governments to keep an eye on charity institutions, to avoid illegal practices.
